Marta Fondo

Marta Fondo recently earned her PhD in Education and ICT from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Her research focuses on affective factors in foreign language learning, particularly anxiety and self-disclosure in virtual exchanges. With extensive teaching experience, she is passionate about intercultural communication, educational innovation, and learner well-being.

Mirjam Hauck

Prof. Mirjam Hauck is Academic Lead for AI in Learning, Teaching and Assessment at the Open University/UK and a Senior Fellow of the UK’s Higher Education Academy. She has published widely on the learning and teaching of languages and cultures, in virtual exchange (VE) contexts in particular. She is the President of the European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (EUROCALL), serves as Associate Editor of the CALL Journal and is an editorial board member of ReCALL and LLT. She is a founding member of UNICollaboration.org and has been a co-investigator in several VE projects funded by the EU and the US-based Stevens Initiative.

Robert Remmerswaal

Robert Remmerswaal is an instructor at Sojo University. He teaches mandatory English classes to STEM majors. His interests include Virtual Exchange, Willingness to Communicate, and Motivation. He is currently pursuing his PhD in English Education at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto.

Susan Meiki

Susan Meiki has been living in Japan since 1988. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Arts in TESOL, and a PhD in Cross-Cultural Cognition. Her research interests include CALL, virtual exchange, and Independent Learning. Currently, she is a senior assistant professor at Okayama University.

Tim Cleminson

Tim Cleminson is an English teacher and researcher based in Japan. His work focuses on language learning engagement, student wellbeing, and intercultural communication. He combines classroom teaching with empirical research to enhance language education practices and support learners’ long-term development.

Wisma Yunita

Wisma Yunita is a Professor in English Language Teaching at the English Education Postgraduate Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Bengkulu, Indonesia. She earned her doctoral degree in Language Education from Universitas Negeri Jakarta in 2018. She has presented her works at national seminars and international conferences in Indonesia and other countries, and publishes her works in several accredited national and international journals. She is also a reviewer for national and international journals in English Language Teaching. Her research interests are English Grammar, Academic Writing, ELT Methodology and Innovation, ELT Testing and Assessment, Curriculum and Material Development, Higher Order Thinking Skills and Language Learning Strategies. Yuliana Lavrysh

Yuliana Lavrysh is a professor, Head of the Department of English for Engineering at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.” Her academic background includes a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)in Didactics  and a PhD in Education,  She has authored over 120 scholarly publications, with her research interests in ESP methodology, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), resilient pedagogy, and virtual exchange.
